Vermont Nudist Week of Wine

May 16, 2013

Have I got your attention?
It’s been in the works, and under wraps for several weeks, but now it’s time to bare all.
Strong sunshine is finally bathing our state, and before long, we’ll be skinny dipping in the rivers, lakes, and ponds.  While it’s still a bit chill for swimming, next week naked wines will be flowing like freshets, and streaming into glasses for Vermont’s first “Natural Wine Week”.  Encouraged by Vermont Importer/Distributor Artisanal Cellars, these wines will frolic unadorned through restaurants and wine shops around the state.  Free of tannin lines, unsullied by synthetic sunscreens, pure beauties without modern make-up.

Yes, I know that the term “Natural Wine” is a bit ambiguous, and even contentious for some, so I encourage folks to check out what it means for themselves.  By all means, strip away your preconceived notions, throw off your veils of illusion about the winemaking process, and let your tongue tell you what to make of the body of wines being served.
