Correspondent Tastings

Sometimes we get the opportunity to proxy for our retailer or restaurateur friends, at trade tastings, provided we take useful notes, pertinent to the business model in question. It is a tough job but someone has to do it…and believe it or not, it is real work.

Sometimes the calendar can get busy, and even conflicts arise. Recently we had to divide and conquer because of a schedule overlap, and so we did the best we could to cover some Oregon wines, and some others from the Loire Valley and other niches in France.

We can’t divulge too many details here, but we can tell you what questions to ask of your local retailer or restaurateur.  Starting with, “Can you get a hold of some Bethel Heights Pinot Blanc before summer gets here?”
